A quick pop in to Michael's for some snail, and of course i grabbed a few other things. I picked up a 6x8 album and inserts for the 31 Things class I am taking. Envelopes and paper are for classes. The red and white paper roll will be used for my bazaar display. The Halloween crafts are our gifts for the fall social. And the planner tags and coloring book were impulse buys.
Card Candy Swap
For August, my demo group had a card candy swap. We each sent 2-3 pieces of card candy to another swapper. Once we received our candy, we had to make a card with it. I received these gorgeous pieces from fellow demo Rosemary Bryson.
These pieces are beautiful. There are so many layers and textures! I took one of the pieces and looked for elements that would coordinate with the colors. I pulled the calypso coral to use as a card base. Then I added mint macaron dsp and finally some delightful dijon washi tape. As the card candy was so intricate and amazing, I didn't need to add much to finish off the card.

Project Life August 2015
My color palette was blue, green, yellow, and red. I went with the Simple Stories kit as my base for color and designs. My pages were smaller this month due to Week in the Life. I chose to leave any photos from that week in that specific album. Very minimal this week, but still some good spreads.
Week in the Life 2015
I did it! I actually documented an entire week in the life this year. Very excited to share my album today. Most of the elements came from Ali Edwards WITL kit. I added a few alphas here and there and some embellishments.

Missing a photo here. I wanted a picture of the Thirty-One products that I ordered. They've come, but I didn't take a picture until later.
Coloring Fun
Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using Stampin' Up's Stampin' Write Markers. I love to color so this was the perfect challenge for me today!
I started with my Vivid Vases stamp. This is the perfect stamp to color! The combinations are endless. To help with all the choices, I picked a blue, green, and purple color scheme. From there I stamped the image without the sentiment on the bottom (I just wiped the sentiment free of ink with a baby wipe before stamping). I grabbed my markers and started coloring. I love the color combos I created! They really pop in person! Since I didn't use the sentiment attached to Vivid Vases, I had to add my own. I chose a sentiment from my current favorite sentiment set: Happy Happenings. I layered my stamped image onto some nice Pool Party patterned paper and Bermuda Bay card base. Some Lost Lagoon washi tape and Bermuda Bay sequins complete the look!
- Stamps: Vivid Vases; Happy Happenings
- Inks: Momento Black; Lost Lagoon; Pool Party; Island Indigo; Wisteria Wonder; Blackberry Bliss; Perfect Plum; Always Artichoke; Old Olive; Pear Pizzazz
- Cardstock: Bermuda Bay; Cherry on Top DSP

SSINKCS25: Schoolhouse Banners
Today’s card is featured over at Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration and features a fun card sketch challenge today.
I started with this great Mint Macaron DSP and started building a great new baby card. I had fun coloring the Hey There Buds card. Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, and Mint Macaron are the perfect combination. I finished this card off with a sentiment from Crazy About You. I finished the card and realized that the Hey There Buds stamp is retired. Ugh! I can't use retired cards for the SSINK blog. What to do? It's a cute card so I had to feature it on my blog, but I went back to the sketch to find current items to make my design team card...
I started this card with the beautiful polka dot DSP from the Schoolhouse pack. I layered the polka dot print over the opposite side featuring numbers. Beautiful combo! To finish out the card, I added a simple sentiment, some washi tape, and a punched banner. Very cute!
- Stamps: Hello Life; Crazy About You; Hey There Buds
- Inks: Mint Macaron; Blushing Bride; Pink Pirouette; Staz-on Black
- Cardstock: 2015-2017 In Colors DSP; Crumb Cake; Schoolhouse DSP; Pacific Point
- Accessories: Seasons of Cheer Washi Tape
- Tools: Banner Punch
Using Positive and Negative Cuts
My demo friend and I figured out that we have have very similar styles, but don't have the same stamp sets. Why don't we swap some stamp sets occasionally? Perfect plan! This bast month I gave her the Baker's Box Thinlits and Homemade for You stamp set and she gave me Hello You Thinlits and Crazy About You stamp set. I had to make a few cards with her products... The Hello You Thinlits made the cutest cut out words. Even the negative pieces are amazingly versatile. So I made two two cards out of one piece of pool party cardstock. From there I layered some Schoolhouse DSP and a pretty stamped flower. Simple but striking cards.
- Stamps: Crazy About You
- Inks: Tangerine Tango
- Cardstock: Schoolhouse DSP; Tangerine Tango; Pool Party; Whisper White
- Accessories: Candy Dots
- Tools: Hello You Thinlits; Medallion Punch
Textured Feathers
The last of my positive and negative cut cards features one of my favorite stamp sets: Four Feathers. I keep coming back to this set for a variety of cards. Instead of my usual bright color, I started with Marina Mist and ended up with a great masculine card. My favorite piece is the embossing card stock. The woodgrain pattern gives the card a ton of extra interest with too much complication. Love it!
- Stamps: Four Feathers; Happy Happenings
- Inks: Early Espresso
- Cardstock: Early Espresso; Marina Mist; Whisper White
- Accessories: Jute trim
- Tools: Feathers Framelits; Hardwood Embossing Folder

This month's theme was welcoming fall and what better way to welcome fall than with a bit of inspired card candy. Never made card candy? It's easy. Create a few embellishments to add to a card. The best card candy pieces are 3D with multiple layers and embellishments. I well simple this time by adhering some stamped images to a layer of Typeset DSP and heavier vanilla cardstock underneath. For packing purposes, I attached the card candy to a piece of window sheet with a glue dot. Stays put, but easy to remove and adhere to an actual card.
