I think I need to sort and put away the paper...
A Friendly CASE
Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to CASE a card from one of the Stampin' Up catalogs. I chose to recreate this fun card:
I love the different colored markers used to make the sentiment. I love the multiple layers of embellishments. So, I pulled out my current SU color markers and picked a fun, but different color combination. I went with Watermelon Wonder; Dapper Denim, and Delightful Dijon. I have to admit that Delightful Dijon isn't one of my favorite colors, but I think it looks really nice with these other two colors. After recreating the sentiment, I had fun pulling papers and embellishments from my stash. My card isn't an exact CASE. I love taking the basic idea of the example card and putting my own touches to it!
- Stamps: Friendly Wishes
- Inks: Dapper Denim; Watermelon Wonder; Delightful Dijon
- Cardstock: 2015-2017 In Color DSP; Watermelon Wonder; Dapper Denim; Whisper White
- Accessories: 2016-2018 In Color Enamel Shapes; Gold Sequin Ribbon; Delightful Dijon Ribbon
- Tools: Lots of Labels Framelits
Razzle and Pool Trees
Another great Christmas card buffet card for today. This one utilizes some great retired Stampin' Up DSP that I still had laying around the house. I pulled the Pool Party from the DSP to create a nontraditionally colored Christmas card. I layered on some stamped trees to create more visual interest. Then I went a little crazy with the embellishments. The card cried for some bling (hence the rhinestones), but the sentiment looked to plain by itself on the paper. The two ribbons layered underneath helped to fill that void. As an afterthought, I pulled out these great little snowflake brads. Perfect touch!
- Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth; Foxy Friends
- Inks: Pool Party; Rich Razzleberry
- Cardstock: Winter Frost DSP (retired); Rich Razzleberry; Whisper White
- Accessories: Rhinestones; Rich Razzleberry Ribbon; Pool Party Ribbon (retired); Snowflake brads (non-SU)
- Tools: Lots of Labels Framelits
SSINKCS39: Warm Christmas
Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below. Sketch cards are always a lot of fun to make.
I had a few pages from the Warmth and Cheer DSP pack leftover from my paper share. I love this fun collection of patterns and colors. So I decided to go with a nontraditional combination of Garden Green and Delightful Dijon. I had a ton of fun mixing and matching patterns to recreate the sketch. A simple, but very visually appealing card.
- Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth
- Inks: Garden Green
- Cardstock: Warmth and Cheer DSP; Crumb Cake; Kraft
- Accessories:
- Tools: Stars Framelits
Sunday Haul #25
Hello Santa
Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card with our favorite Christmas stamp. Of course I had to make a card using the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp.
I love the little figures and this little Santa Claus is just the cutest. I decided to keep my card design simple to focus on the beautiful paper and stamped image.
- Stamps: Cookie Cutter Christmas
- Inks: Real Red; Basic Black; Delightful Dijon
- Cardstock: Candy Cane Lane DSP; Real Red; Whisper White
- Accessories: Real Red Ribbon
- Tools: Scallop Tag Topper Punch
Fun n' Crafty Blog Hop November 2016
Welcome to the Fun n’ Crafty Blog Hop for November. This month's theme is Christmas cards. Have you seen the new Stitched Shapes Framelits? They are a great addition to Stampin' Up's framelits. I bought mine last week and they arrived on Monday, just in time for me to use them for today's card.
For my card, I wanted to go simple but play with shapes and patterns. I layered a couple different patterns from the Warmth and Cheer DSP stack to create my background. From there, I layered some ovals framelits to create the nice center of my card. Note the fun stitching around my sentiment! To finish off the card, I added some metallic thread behind my sentiment and and a few gold enamel shapes.

I chose to CASE this great card from Diana Eichfeld. I always love her cards. She has great attention to the little details in card making! For my CASE, I went a bit more simple, but kept the idea of the layout and layering of DSP. Apparently, I am really digging the purple and blue color combo lately. I've made four different cards using varying shades of purple and blue just this week!

SSINKCC39: Paisley DSP
Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the colors below.
I love the Paisley and Posies stamp set for how many different ways you can use it. For this card, I decided to make my own background pattern paper for the card using the colors in the challenge. From there, I layered on some great cardstock. For the sentiment, I inked part of the sentiment in Tangerine Tango and the other part in Island Indigo. I love the final effect!
